Fact sheet about Vernonia amygdalina

Herbaceous or soft-wooded shrub. Leaves broadly lanceolate to oblong-elliptic; margins strongly undulate and serrate with sharp teeth. Capitula solitary along the branches. Florets mostly tubular, white, sometimes tinged with mauve. Found in miombo woodland and wooded grassland, often near streams.
