SAFE USE OF AGROCHEMICALS

Company Responsibilities
Farmer Responsibilities
Supply farmers with chemicals in the quantities required
Supply appropriate application equipment (sprayers, buckets etc)
Supply protective clothing (overalls, gloves, boots, masks)
Train farmers in use of the chemicals and equipment
Ensure all issues and applications are accurately recorded
Ensure unused chemicals and equipment are safely stored
Ensure used containers are safely disposed of
Use only approved agrochemicals
Use recommended application equipment, procedures and protective clothing
Apply no more chemical than the minimum quantity required
Spray chemical directly on to the affected parts of the plants
Spray only when conditions are suitable (wind speed low so that chemical is not dispersed, pollinating insects not flying, etc.)
Do not spray beyond the approved pre-harvest interval
Store unused agrochemicals and equipment safely
Keep accurate records of all agrochemical applications
