Home/ Industries / Fair-Trade

Fair-trade is a unique approach to responsible business that aims to help poor producers in developing countries to access and get fair prices in Northern markets.

NRET has worked with fair-trade organisations and their producers on a range of commodities to understand the social impact and economic viability of fair-trade systems. It is also working with fair-trade organisations to improve monitoring and evaluation systems.

To date the commodities covered are cocoa, brazil nuts, coffee, cotton and bananas. Work is being carried out in Ghana, Ecuador, Peru, Uganda and Tanzania.
