CONTAMINATION DURING HARVESTING : PROCEDURES

Procedure: Personal hygiene and training in use of harvesting equipment. Inspect produce for contaminants - release or destroy. Examine each harvesting container before packing.
Frequency of use: Provide education on a regular basis. Examine each harvesting container
Remedial Action: Alter contracts to reflect the necessity to comply with minimum hygiene standards. Educate smallholders on foreign matter control. Introduce financial bonuses or penalties
