SORTING AND PACKING

  • The buyer should have primary packing centres as near as possible to each growing area, where the crop is graded, weighed and accepted or rejected.
  • There must be clearly explained criteria for grading, acceptance or rejection of crop.
  • Hygienic methods of harvesting, cleaning, sorting and packing must be enforced to ensure that the crop is delivered in prime condition and food safety is assured.
